Deer Island Bayou Well Blowout

Working with the oil & gas client, well control contractor, OSROs, and numerous agency representatives, Forefront consultants worked within their Houma Command Post and in field operations for approximately 45 day to bring this well under control and mitigate the environmental damage. Forefront also assisted with the NRDA process following the well-intervention.

Hurricanes Katrina & Rita

Hurricanes Katrina & Rita

Louisiana was dealt with Category 3 Hurricane Katrina on August 29, 2005, making landfall near Buras, LA, and Category 3 Hurricane Rita on September 26 near Johnson's Bayou, LA. Forefront was managing 8 of the 10 major oil spills in southeast LA after Katrina when Rita made landfall, impacting another significant area of our client base. All staff members were working on projects caused by these 2 notable events.

Bayou Perot Incident

The largest single crude oil spill event in the United States in 2007, Bayou Perot Incident, substantiates Forefront's abilities in all aspects of management in dealing with an event of national significance. From Incident Commander to Finance Section Chief, all primary roles were filled by Forefront's personnel.

DM 932 Incident

July 23, 2008 in the center of New Orleans, Louisiana, two towboats with barges in tow collided with one barge breaking apart and spilling heavy crude oil into the Mississippi River. Forefront's team was called in to assist within all roles of ICS until the event was completely mitigated.

Due Diligence Projects

Forefront performs several Due Diligence and Phase I Site Assessments annually. Our team successfully completed over 300 site visits in Ohio and West Virginia and had all reports submitted within 45 days to the client that needed an extremely quick turnaround.

Pipeline Explosion

Pipeline Explosion

A Forefront client reported that a natural gas pipeline had exploded and was on fire in southest Louisiana. Forefront's team was able to set up a command post, meet with agencies, generate a media statement, along with mobilizing a field response, all within just a few hours of notification.

Corpus Christi Refinery Exercise

In October 2022, Forefront, working with our refinery client, the U.S. Coast Guard, and other agency and industry partners hosted a training event, equipment deployment exercise, and an overall extremely successful functional exercise.

Eugene Island Blowout - Fire

Eugene Island 273 Well Blowout & Fire

Forefront consultants mobilized to the offshore oil & gas company's office for IMT services within their Command Post in Lafayette, LA. Positions filled included Incident Commander, Safety, Liaison, Planning and Finance.

SE Florida Area Committee Exercise

Forefront, along with our major oil & gas operator client, led the southeast Florida Area Committee Exercise in September 2022. The exercise participants ranged from the U.S. Coast Guard to various other agency participants. The scenario involved approximately 240,000 barrels of Jet-A Fuel being released into a nearby waterway.




BSEE Unannounced Exercise

Forefront's team was the first team tested by BSEE with a deepwater worse case discharge scenario after the BP Deepwater Horizon incident. The team received a passing grade on all areas exercised.

West Delta 32 Incident

Forefront's team was notified of a platfrom explosion, which suddenly turned into a search & rescue mission and medical evacuations. The team worked tirelessly with company and agency representatives until all personnel were accounted for and any pollution was removed from the environment.





Platform & Tank Failure

Forefront's team was called to action when a structural failure of a platform caused the collapse of a 400 barrel oil storage tank on the opening day of shrimping season in south Louisiana.

North Louisiana — Eagleford Shale

North Louisiana In May of 2011, Forefront was requested to coordinate cleanup activities following a plant explosion that involved a biohazard cleanup, as well as the remediation of 100 barrels (bbls) of amine. The Forefront Emergency Management team implemented the Incident Command System to mitigate the incident. In addition, we worked with the Louisiana DEQ as well as OSHA on this project. Forefront recovered more than 2,000 cubic yards of soil, as well as 650 bbls of contaminated water. More than 50 personnel were used daily for the recovery, demolition, decontamination and remediation efforts.
